THE JOURNEY


My journey has been shaped by personal struggles, academic pursuits, and a passion for holistic well-being. Struggling with health complications in my early 20s, I experienced firsthand the limitations of conventional medicine. Diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, I found relief through alternative practices like naturopathy and yoga. This transformative experience ignited a passion to help others navigate similar challenges and inspired my pursuit of biomedical science and naturopathic medicine.

Hiking and being outdoors are essential parts of my life, especially for managing stress and reconnecting with nature. Nature has the remarkable ability to calm my mind and refresh my spirit, from the surrounding tall trees to the wide-open spaces and breathtaking views. There's something so grounding and soothing about nature, reminding me of the interconnectedness of all living things and helping me see life's challenges in a different perspective. Whether I'm hiking through a forest, climbing a mountain trail, or sitting by a peaceful stream, nature always brings clarity and reminds me of what truly matters.
During my studies, my partner, Zac Shortis, and I conducted research on heavy metal contamination at Maplewood Flats. Although challenging, this project deepened my understanding of scientific methods and fuelled my desire to address environmental health issues. This project is included in this portfolio under The Study and can be found there.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I pursued yoga teacher training, recognizing its holistic benefits for physical and mental well-being. This journey inspired me to specialize in women's health and fertility, wishing to integrate naturopathic medicine with yoga to support women on their wellness journeys. My journey extends beyond personal growth—it reflects my commitment to altruism and compassion. Through empathy and shared experiences, I aim to positively impact the lives of others. Integrated with the principles of yoga, my purpose is dedicated to promoting holistic well-being and self-realization.
